• The METOC Information Analysis Laboratory has as field of competence and activity marine meteorology and military oceanography, being the only specialised structure of Romanian Naval Forces for providing METOC data and products.
• The role of the laboratory is to analyse, develop and distribute geospatial information support products, specific to all types of maritime operations.For this purpose, the meteorological data from The Maritime Meteorological Surveillance Network of the Naval Forces (RSMM-FN)) and from the The National Integrated Meteorological System (SIMIN-FN), are analysed and processed, toghether with the oceanographic data collected by the DHM specialists or external sources.
• METOC Information is transmitted in the "traffic lights" format: green-minimum operational impact, yellow - moderate operational impact, red- severe operational impact.
